'The cake will come in later', Ignis thought with a firm nod as he pulled back and inspected the items on the small table in Noct's room then nodded.

It... wasn't much. But then again, Noctis never asked for anything for his birthday. Ignis just wanted to make sure it's marked and remembered, as it should be. And the gifts he left for him are something that Noctis enjoys, he made sure of it.

On a plate, he placed two pastries- another attempt at guessing the flavor of those that Noct had a long time ago. But he somehow doubts that he will get it right. So the filling is with his second next favorite- blueberries and wide arrangement of wild berries. And next to them is the real gift.

A round fish bowl, medium-sized, with two beautiful, blue fishes with long, silky fins, floating in and around their small rock castle. The bowl has sparkling rocks on the bottom and some grass as decoration, while the top of the bowl is wrapped with blue bowl.

He leans a note against the bowl as well, written and signed in elegant handwriting and nods in satisfaction. He needs to go back to work and finish up the real birthday cake but... he had to do this. Because he always did. With a small smile, he closes the door to the room and leaves for work.

[Noctis wakes up at about 10:20am. It's not every day that they just let him sleep in instead of waking him at five or six hundred hours. Noct squints at the light of the sun outside the window, rubbing his eyes. Nngh, what time...?

He reaches over to grab his iMog but instead his fingers brush against paper and cool glass. He blinks, rolling over to see the second present he receives this morning; the two fish briefly take his breath away and he smiles faintly at the attempt at his favorite dessert for breakfast. Ahh... Ignis. That explains it. He rubs his eyes, waiting for the haze to clear before he checks the note.]
